Dear current and future guests,

Over the last 2-3 we've had several guests checking into our DC Lofty - Convention Center hostel with more than just their luggage. Since 2 weeks ago, we've called upon pest control companies to advice us in dealing with such travelers.
The entire place has received steam cleanings for the last two weeks, and our own deep cleaning is now maintained constantly twice a week.
It consists of using professional dry steamers that produce a high temperature steam that is able to penetrate all of the bed frames, wall cracks, and so on. Furthermore we use specific dust chemicals that provide residual treatment as a part II.

We understand that as a hostel, we are a high traffic establishment, and folks coming from other hostels/hotels/buses may very well be carrying more than just luggage with them,- thus the now constant routine.

While Capital View hostel has not experienced the unfortunate visits yet, we do extend the same treatments there as well, with an assumption that someone may very well visit at any point.

We try to do everything that we can to be the safety net for travelers, and it's a disappointment that so many other places allow this to continue to be an issue; as this is the route that travelers have brought these unwanted "guests" to us in first place.

We can't control who comes into our establishment, but through extra costs and effort we are prepared for the worst, and hope for the best.
